Can a Text-Message Hijack your phone? Yes it can.

iphone

According to a security post by Forbes, there are two researchers who plan on revealing the details on how an un-patched iPhone could be virally infected by a simple SMS message.

The SMS message will likely come in a single square character – It is suggested if you do receive this odd text message on your iPhone that you quickly turn it off and get the bug patched as soon as possible.

Quoted from the Forbes article, “This is serious. The only thing you can do to prevent it is turn off your phone,” Miller told Forbes. “Someone could pretty quickly take over every iPhone in the world with this.”

I don’t personally own an iPhone – I refuse to deal with AT&T and their steamy-pile-o-crap that comes with using them, it’s just not worth it to me.  However, I do have plenty of friends who do own an iPhone.

My question to those of you with an iPhone- Does this exploit on the iPhone make you feel any less secure?
