Domain name reseller, eNom, is reporting on their Twitter feed
They are under a DDOS attack with more updates coming shortly – that was 20 minutes ago.
I can’t imagine being one of the top domain name resellers (otherwise known as Name brokers) and suffereing through such an event. The flood of phone calls… the flood of emails (oh wait, the site is down, no email until everything is back up)
People may not like GoDaddy for whatever reason – but it’s times like this I have always suggested to keep your domain at a big company LIKE GoDaddy for just this reason.
A little more detail on eNom:
They were founded in 1997 up in Redmond, Washington, mostly as a wholesale domain name business. Many small web-hosting companies saw them as a great alternative and value-add to their own small businesses.
eNom is ICANN-accredited (some thought they were a scam due to the thousands of phising-type emails they would send just to get you to switch registrars – i believe they no longer do this)

UPDATE: After almost 3 hours, eNom has finally fixed the problem and everything is back up for everyone.
